for Fleet, the lead character in my latest manga attempt. The first character
sheet can be found here.
The colouring was
rushed, and the parchment is pure cheese, but meh, I'm reasonably satisfied
with it. I ran out of time for drawing random situational doodles for the edges
of the pic, so I yoinked the one on the bottom right hand corner straight from
page three of my comic. The comic I'm writing is actually a one-shot that takes
place in the middle of the first arc of the story. I wish I could be bothered
to do his full story. Maybe if his one-shot goes well I will ^^ The beginning
of his story is a bit generic but the story gets a major twist just after the
halfway mark and that's when it gets interesting.
Okay, this next load of blurb is just stuff about Fleet, so skip it if you can't be assed, I wont blame you!
Fleet is a boy with a mission,
a mission to become the greatest thief ever, and to prove to his family once
and for all that thievery can be just as honourable a profession as any other.
Fleet comes from a long line of lawyers and judges, but together with his newly
'acquired' magical companion, Kifer, he escapes his unwelcomed destiny by running
away from home into the exciting world of adventure outside. ( This sounds corny
^.^;; )
--An upbeat and optimistic character, Fleet is
a firm believer that there are no limits in life, and nothing is impossible.
His enthusiasm and determination is often belittled by those who see him as
just a daydreaming kid, but it'll take more than some boring old fogeys who've
abandoned their own childhood wishes to make him give up on his dreams and ambitions.
-- His best friend is his fetch, Kifer. Kifer may
appear to be just a silly hat to the un-trained eye, but he's actually a living,
breathing being. When tossed to the ground, he assumes the form of a small canine
critter (Fleet is uncertain as to exactly what species of canine it is). For
those who don't know, a thieves fetch is a small animal trained to retrieve
items for the thief, like Abu in Aladdin^^;;
Costume blurb: Fleet is actually a blond, and his real name is Dominic Truebury. When he runs away from home, he's well aware that people will be looking for him, so he gives himself a speedy makeover. He cuts his long blond hair (badly), changes his name, yoinks clothes from various clothes lines (and then alters them to fit him). He get's his heair dyed when he joins the thieves guild. His costume design isn't random, every article of clothing he's wearing has a second purpose. For example, the furry leg warmers? They've got Dog Pepper rubbed into them, to confuse guard dog's and police dogs sense of smell while he makes his getaway.
