Spirited

I watched 'Spirited Away' for the first time not so long ago, and couldn't help
but think what a sweet anime it was ^_^ Ghibli films are always good! Anywho,
there was a 'Spirited Away' fanart competition somewhere ( I can't remember
where I saw it now, lol ) and I thought I'd have a go. Seems like I didn't win,
because it's been a while since I sent the picci off now, and I haven't heard
back from them. Ah well, I'm not disappointed, I had a lot of fun drawing ths
one.The ghibli style of art was fairly simple and enjoyable to draw.
The best part was of course drawing Haku's dragon form - I love dragons, and
this one reminds me of the dragon from 'Never Ending Story', a favorite film
of mine when I was little. As per usual, I was running late for the deadline,
so I had to rush the background. Those trees look so lame ^^;;; Despite my shortage
of time, I decided I wasn't happy with it in cel style, it just looked to flat
to me, so I had a super mad rush re-colouring it in my preferred shading style.
But when I finished that one I found I preferred the original cel style pic
instead, lol. I'm so indecisive ^^;; I asked the guys over at AAUK what they
thought and it seems as though the cel style was preferred so that's the one
I entered in the contest.
Since I went to the bother of re-colouring it, I have both versions on
display here ^_^

(I think the splotches of colour in the background were somewhat overkill
now *sigh*)l
